Governor in Council Appointments
The Government of Canada is currently seeking applications from diverse and talented Canadians from across the country who are interested in serving as a Director representing the federal government on the Board of Directors of the Windsor Port Authority. The Windsor Port Authority is governed by a board of seven Directors, one each appointed by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments and four federal appointees representative of the various user groups in the Port of Windsor, appointed by the Federal Government.

President and Chief Executive Officer
Steve Salmons was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Windsor Port Authority on his 60th birthday, May 1, 2018, bringing to the position extensive business experience in growth, development and economic expansion. Prior to joining Port Windsor, Steve oversaw community development and the construction of the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore, held the positions of Senior Advisor to the Minister of Finance (Ontario) and Senior Advisor for the Herb Gray Parkway project, General Manager of Community Services at the City of Windsor, and CEO of the Windsor Public Library. Following graduation, he served several years as Manager, Branch Services and Operations with the Royal Bank of Canada. Steve has spent his career serving in senior roles, providing leadership with a consistent focus on economic expansion.
His education includes an MBA (Strategic Studies), an Honours BComm (Labour Relations) and a BA (Psychology) from the University of Windsor, ON. Steve serves as a Board member for the Association of Canadian Port Authorities and the Ontario Marine Transportation Forum, and The Windsor-Essex COVID Economic Task force, and is active on the Chamber of Marine Commerce High Water Taskforce.
Steve is a life-long resident of Windsor.
