Board of Directors Appointment
The Windsor Port Authority is seeking applications from qualified individuals for appointment to its Board of Directors. There is one (1) position currently available to be recommended to the Minister of Transport by the Port User’s group (a nominating committee consisting of five (5) representatives of marine terminal operators and marine service providers).
The Port Authority is a non-shareholder, financially self-sufficient corporation, established by the Government of Canada in July 1999, in accordance with the Canada Marine Act, and accountable to the federal Minister of Transport.
Port Windsor is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board makes independent and timely decisions based on strategic plans with a focus on the operational needs of port users and is guided by a vision for on-going prosperity for Windsor-Essex’s economy, environment and community.
We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience with board governance, strategic planning, risk management, financial performance leadership, government/regulatory leadership, business development, and senior executive leadership.
The Board is committed to an open, transparent, and merit-based selection process to help ensure that people of all gender identities, Indigenous peoples, racialized people, persons with disabilities, and minority groups are reflected in governance and leadership positions.

- Curriculum vitae demonstrating that the candidate meets or exceeds the requirements for the position, including the candidate’s name, address, email address and telephone;
- A statement indicating that the candidate desires to be considered for appointment as a User Director, and confirmation that the candidate is eligible for appointment pursuant to Section 16 of the Canada Marine Act.
